How has being a Physics graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"Duke Physics has profoundly shaped the way I see the world and think about how to solve problems. I find that, in my work environment (which is with nonprofits, not at all a physics environment), I am superbly equipped to handle a wide range of problem solving. I am constantly surveying all the "givens", shifting them around to see how to form a solution. This comes naturally because of the training provided by Duke."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Physics programs?

"Always consider the long-term goal! Physics is a challenge; remember the true reward you are reaping by installing all the Physics-based problem-solving circuitry into your mind."
