Duke Today
Every year, the research intelligence company Clarivate publishes a list of Highly Cited Researchers. These researchers have multiple publications which rank in the top 1% by citation in their fields and are further selected for exemplifying excellence and integrity in their work.
The Highly Cited Researchers 2025 list was recently released, and 29 Duke scholars were featured on the list of 6,868 researchers. These leading researchers hail from across Duke University, Duke Health and Duke-NUS Medical School. Many are classified in the “Cross-Field” category, highlighting the strength of interdisciplinarity and collaboration among Duke researchers.
Below find the Duke list with people grouped by field category, noting their primary school appointment. Some may have left Duke, but work conducted at Duke has earned them a place on the list.
