Introduction to Fields: Electromagnetism and Vector Calculus

PHYSICS 152L

Intended principally for students in engineering and the physical sciences. Topics include: electric charge, vector fields and flux, Gauss's Law, potential, electrical current, electric and magnetic fields and forces, Ampere's Law, magnetic induction, Faraday's Law, Maxwell's Equations, electromagnetic waves, passive circuit elements, and concepts of vector calculus. Can be taken concurrently with MATH 219 or MATH 212. Recommended prerequisite: PHYSICS 151L and MATH 122, or equivalents.

Prerequisites

Prerequisite: PHYSICS 151L, 161D, or 25. Pre- or co-requisite: MATH 212, 219, or 222.
