TNT Colloquium: Transport, the lattice, and noise reduction [Duke Virtual]

April 9, -
Speaker(s): Guy Moore (Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany)
Shear and bulk viscosity are key properties of the quark-gluon
plasma which we would like to predict from first-principles QCD.
Our best hope for a nonperturbative determination is lattice QCD.
I will explain why, in full (unquenched) QCD,
the relevant correlation functions are noisy,
and what we are doing to overcome this noise problem.
