Roxanne Springer Receives APS's 2023 Distinguished Service Award

Roxanne Springer, professor of Physics, is the 2023 recipient of the American Physical Society’s (APS) Division of Nuclear Physics Distinguished Service Award. This award will be announced at the DNP 23 Business Meeting.

Her nomination letter reads:

“For rich and passionate efforts to advocate and improve Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) for DNP members and beyond, especially those from marginalized groups, including steering the DNP Allies program, helping broaden the Allies Program to other APS Units, cofounding the DNP DEI committee, and making DNP session chair training a best practice.”

Now in its 20th year, the APS Distinguished Service Award recognizes those who have made substantial and extensive contributions to the nuclear physics community through the activities of the Division of Nuclear Physics.

The award consists of a plaque and a certificate with the citation specified by the selection committee and approved by the DNP Executive Committee.
