How has being a Physics graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"To be honest, since I graduated I probably haven't open my notes or textbooks to apply a physics formula or concept in my job. However, the mental frameworks and skills I developed have been most valuable. Particularly, how to solve problems and analyze data. We live in a world were there's data in almost anything and countless problems to solve to get a competitive advantage. Having the physicist toolkit has helped me differentiate myself from other candidates and succeed in different companies."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Physics programs?

"Challenge yourself. Engage with the faculty's research. Study to learn and satisfy your curiosity, not for a grade."
