Electronics for physics measurements and instrumentation

PHYSICS 371L

Introductory electronics course with the emphasis on the concepts and circuits relevant for physics instrumentation. Passive circuit elements, transfer functions, diodes and other solid-state devices, transistor circuits, operational amplifiers, noise analysis in analogue circuits, digital circuits. Use of basic electronic instrumentation, such as oscilloscopes, lock-in amplifiers, and computer interfaces.

Prerequisite: PHYSICS 162D and 164L and 165L or 152L or 142L
